QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
SNL considers the protection of human health, safety and the environment for all its employees, contractors, customers and the community, to be of primary importance. As such, the company will maintain a Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE Program conforming to the best management practices for onshore offshore fabrications.
The overall success of the QHSE program is based on the following:
- Management, commitment, planning, and accountability: Management is responsible and accountable for protecting employees, assets, and the environment in accordance with the company charter. In addition, prevention of injuries, illness and environmental preservation must be made a priority during project planning, operations, maintenance, and fabrication activities.
- Employee participation and accountability: Front-line supervisors are accountable for the actions of their subordinates and will always reinforce safe work behaviours. All employees are responsible for stopping unsafe acts, alerting management of unsafe work areas, and for following the company QHSE policies and procedures.
- Compliance: The Company will commit to strive for compliance with all applicable QHSE regulations, codes and standards and will develop and enforce procedures which provide guidance to all employees on their responsibilities for meeting or exceeding these requirements.
- Training: The Company will provide adequate training to ensure understanding of good QHSE practices and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: The Company will strive for continuous improvement in its QHSE performance through regular measurement & review of its programs and processes
QHSE OBJECTIVE
Ultimate goal is to have incident free (Zero Lost Time Injuries). In addition to believes the following to fundamental principals and objectives which they will fully endorse/support to ensure successful and safe execution of the project.
- To raise the QHSE management profile throughout the project, to ensure that all project members are proactively contributing to the QHSE performance expectation of the Project.
- To promote QHSE among contractors, suppliers and vendors through the preparation and execution of the Project QHSE plan, reporting of incident, site management visits and site audits and inspections.
- To minimize and where possible eliminate emission, effluents and discharges which are known to have a negative effect on the environment
- To ensure compliance to local regulatory legislation
- To align with and fully support client QHSE policy and objectives
- Ensure the reduction of risk during the project ongoing to as low as reasonably practice.
- To demonstrate QHSE leadership and commitment
- To monitor and review QHSE activities and ensure a process of continuous improvement
QUALITY
It is SNL’S policy to manage and carry out its business in compliance to authorities’ bye-laws, in a manner that ensure the safety of its employees, protect the environment, safeguard the customers’ and third party’s interests that may be involved in its operations. We will strive to manage all risks and prevent all accidents, injuries and occupational illness and pollution through the involvement of management and every employee to identify, recognize, control, manage and eliminate risks associated with its activities.
- Establish practices, provide training and conduct operations in a manner that safeguard workers, properties, communities and the environment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, accidents and incidents resulting from it operations.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the industry.
- Stress to all employees their responsibilities and accountability for the promotion of safety, health and the environment protection.
The Management of HEMSB regards that the safety, health, welfare of its employees and protection of the environment as a matter of priority. Safety shall not be compromised in achieving any objectives.
HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
SNL Management Safety Philosophy towards safety is “SAFETY FIRST’’. We are committed to continual improvement and will at least comply with current applicable Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements. Prevention of accident and injuries to all persons at our work place will be our major responsibility.
ENVIRONMENTAL
In the area of environment, SNL is committed to protect the environment, use material and energy efficiently in our products and services. To satisfy this overall policy objective, the following strategies on environmental policy shall be applied.
- Applying the 4Rs, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. Where practicable, the need to dispose of hazardous waste will be eliminated by avoiding the use of hazardous material.
- Wastes that cannot be eliminated shall be stored until a suitable treatment/disposal route becomes available. Storage shall be such as to prevent health or safety hazards to personnel or threat to the environment.
- All waste shall be accompanied by information on its composition, hazards and instructions for what to do in an emergency involving the waste.
